How Do I Search for an Attachment Using Filters?

Use the attachment filter option to search for attachments in your Inbox. The filtering mechanism enables you to search for attachments based on file names as well as string within the files.

You can search for attachments in the following ways:

To search for attachments by using the quick filtering option:

  1. Enter the string that closely matches the attachments that you want to search in the Filter text box.

  2. Select the drop down menu to filter by Name or Name and Content.

    You can search attachments based on names or you can search attachments based on names and content in attachments. For example, if you want to search for text within an attachment, enter the text in the text area provided.

  3. Press Enter.

    All attachments matching the criteria appear.

The advanced filtering option enables you to add conditions to the search criteria.

  1. Click the More Filters button next to the Quick filter text box.

    A filter dialog box appears allowing you to filter by the following options:

  2. Enter the sender's display name or email address in the Sender text field.

    Click Apply to display the results.

  3. Select the date range between which you want to search the attachments. Select the From and To dates by clicking in the text boxes.

    A mini calendar appears. Click Apply to display the results.

  4. Select the type of the file to search in the Type field.

    The following options are available:

    Click Apply to display the results.

  5. Select the folder in which to search from the Folder field.

    Click Apply to display the results.

You can also apply multiple filters by selecting a combination of the aforementioned filtering options. An AND operation is performed on the attachment and the results appear. To remove a filter, click the x provided at the end of the filter.
