How Do I Troubleshoot Voice and Video Call Errors?

Microphone/Camera Permissions:

I am using Convergence in a Chrome browser. When I first tried to make a voice/video call, I denied Convergence permission to use my microphone and camera. I'd like to make voice and video calls again, but I cannot get the microphone or camera to turn on.

If you deny Convergence the permission to use the microphone or camera, the Chrome browser will not ask again for these permissions. It adds Convergence to an exceptions list, disabling you from initiating or accepting voice and video calls. To fix this issue, remove "Convergence" from the exceptions list at chrome://settings/content.

Screen Sharing:

Screen sharing does not work.

If you have not enabled screen capture in your web browser, you might see an error message.  Confirm that screen capture is enabled.

For Chrome, enter chrome://flags in your web browser address bar, and check "Enable screen capture support in getUserMedia()"

In Firefox, screen capture support is enabled by default.

Screen sharing is disabled.

Screen sharing does not work in a chat message.  You must be in a voice or video call to enable screen sharing.
